FOX Sunday nights mix animated family comedy with live-action to create the ultimate adults-only family programming for Sundays. While some jokes on The Simpsons and ’Til Death may be okay for older children, FOX’s ribald Family Guy is not a program for the younger members of the household. FOX Sundays start out strongly to bring laughs, but end in a big fizzle to bring groans.

HGTV’s daily half-hour feature, That’s Clever! shows that craftiness comes in all forms. A hand-made fly swatter? Trash turned into cash? Handbags made out of gourds? That’s just an ordinary day on That’s Clever! HGTV hopes that viewers find not just the ideas on the show, but the show itself as being clever and worth watching…but, is it?

We have more channels to watch on cable that ever. So many different shows on television today, and yet many of them same to repeat the same themes over and over. Personal makeover shows, home makeover shows, reality TV of all kinds, poker – it all adds up to feeling like we’re watching the same show over and over and over again. When I saw the previews, I didn’t think it was a real show. Perhaps one of those joke commercials, you know. I laughed it off. But then…I found out it was a real show that TLC actually plans to air. Giving Reality a whole new plot, TLC’s My Husband’s Three Wives will air September 24. Is America ready?

When shows like Survivor and The Real World were young, the Reality TV genre was new, bold, and exciting. Anyone could become the next TV star. But now, Reality TV has become a viable answer for anyone trying to break in (or break back in) to the TV limelight. The sad truth is, a lot of these so-called Reality TV shows are just bad. Seriously, when it comes to Reality TV, just how low will we go?

Whether we only tuned in for a few minutes, or we tuned in for every moment with religious fervor, we still tuned in. There are some television shows that will stick out in our memories as the best, the worst…or as the programs that changed everything. I remember anxiously watching the shows on this list, never once realizing that some of them would change the face of network television for good. Even the worst episodes, the tackiest, helped shove television into a brand-new era. Now it is time to pay homage to a few of the great times we all had watching our television sets, and re-visit them now that we have the advantage of hindsight.

An upcoming movie named Hollywoodland will portray some of the rumors, questions, and suspicions surrounding the death of actor George Reeves, best known for his role as television’s Superman on The Adventures of Superman. Featuring a star-packed cast, this movie will attempt to showcase one of Hollywood’s greatest mysteries. But will it solve the mystery, or leave that up to us?
